Judi's first appearance

The first time we see Judi in Series 20 (1997). She's taking her brothers to school and certainly knows how to keep her brothers in order!

When she wasn't taking her brothers to school, Judi was looking after her mum who had MS. She was always looking over her shoulder and very secretive about her home life, fearing that if Social Services knew, the family would be split up.

Despite her responsibilities at home, there was a fun side to Judi. Here we see her playing football with her brothers; like every loving sister. This scene gave Laura the chance to show off a lighter side to her acting skills.

Judi throws a party

...And she organises a birthday party for her twin brothers, Jonathan and Harry.

Harry ruins Judi's project

...Not sure they deserved a party though, after what Harry did to Judi's history project! Mrs Holmes will be pleased.

Judi v Mrs Holmes

Mrs Holmes wasn't always the firm-but-fair deputy head respected by the pupils. At the start of her career at Grange Hill she was a right dragon! No-one knew that better than Judi Jeffreys, and the next three clips show her battles with the demonic history teacher. Firstly, Judi is pushed over the edge when Holmes refuses to accept her damaged project, and in the second clip Holmes is appallingly unsympathetic when Judi tries explaining her circumstances. But Judi gives as good as she gets! Finally, social worker Ruth puts Holmes squarely in her place. Is that cheering I can hear?
