OLIVER! (both Ashton Youth Theatre). Also, in OLIVER!
I played a "workhouse kid" and "maid",
both with Ashton Operatics Society.
KIRSTEN ON TANYA:
I love playing Tanya - she's feisty, really bright, a
bit of a rebel, popular and confident - all rolled into
one. But I don't think I am much like her. I believe in
standing up for what you believe in but the ways in which
Tanya goes about these things I find a bit extreme and
she can sometimes take things too far which can backfire
even if she means well. She's a bit too bossy and I think
I'd get annoyed with her a lot! But she doesn't think
she could be friends with Tanya in real life:
I think Tanya is a fantastic part to play and I’m incredibly
grateful for the fantastic storylines I have been given!
They have been a good challenge..
ON BEING IN GRANGE HILL:
It’s great to be in such a well-loved show. I thoroughly
enjoy my work and the mischievous ways of Tanya!! It has
been an excellent opportunity for me and I have loved
working with some truly amazing friends. Unfortunately,
distance makes it hard for our friendships but if I could
I would meet up with all the cast! They are all great!
I have met up with Lauren Bunney (Annie) and Dani Fray
(Emma) a few times. |

HOBBIES: Shopping
and going out with friends. I dance and sing also. Love
most kinds of music. Dance, RnB, Drum n Bass and Garage
especially. My favourite shows are Hollyoaks, Desperate
Housewives, Footballers Wives (it's wicked!) and Bad Girls.
Coronation Street is great too!
LIKES/DISLIKES:
I love holidays especially very hot Caribbean Cruises!
Also like Tanya I love makeup! So my Bobbi Brown and
Dior makeup come a very close second! I hate rainy days
and queues!

| AFTER GRANGE HILL...
I would love to carry on working on television because
I genuinely love doing it. I hope to go on to bigger things
if I can carry on being as lucky as I have been. I would
like to do anything from presenting to films to soap operas.
ANYTHING ELSE?
I am an accomplished singer with a Grade 3 soprano voice,
and a keen dancer especially in disco dancing. I trained
at the renowned Laine Johnson theatre school in Salford.
So if nothing else works, Tanya could always get Togger's
attention by serenading him!
