Zammo cut my hair!
Lisa Newton-Steele recently appeared on Celebrity Scissorhands:
"Am I mad or wot?? I went on Celeb Scissorhands and afterwards I told Zammo that he was my hero and I got him to sign my arm then I got it tattooed on, right near to my Paul McCartney signature. Zammo was a real genuine guy so friendly. Chris was more handsome in the flesh too !!!" Thanks for sharing that with us; I know Lee was nervous about cutting womens' hair so I guess you think he did OK!
Where was Melissa at the reunion?
Ash Evans:
"Hello Simon, Having seen your reunion website for Grange Hill class of 86 I was wondering what Melissa Wilks was doing these days, and was she at the reunion as there are no pictures? I was a massive fan of the programme and can remember watching every episode! The cast look a little older now but I suppose being in my mid 30s so do I! Keep up the good work." Hi Ash! These days Melissa Wilks is known as Melissa Gordon and has a teenage daughter. She does still do the odd bit of acting on stage. Melissa did not attend the 2005 reunion apparently because she'd had dental work done earlier in the day and as the reunion involved a meal, it wouldn't have been much fun. Glad you liked the photos however!
Katie the extra is gutted!
November starts with some feedback from those who were part of Grange Hill's recent past. Katie Kneen hopes GH Online will keep the memory of Grange Hill alive:
"Hi, I used to be an extra in GH all the time. I'm gutted that the show finished! It's really nice what you've done here, the website's really good!" Thanks Katie! You are obviously proud to have been part of the show and glad you like the site. GH Online has been going for eight years now and in that time most of the cast members we've spoken to enjoyed their time on the programme as much as you did. Keep checking back!
Wuthering Heights for "last pupil" Patsy
Nicola Pearson has news of a TV appearance that might be of interest:
"Look out for the new TV adaptation of Wuthering Heights, ITV winter schedule. Alexandra Pearson who played Patsy Clarke (episode 18) is starring as the Young Kathy. I'm Alex's mum, we were all delighted that she got the "honour" of being the last pupil of a long line to join Grange Hill. By the way her dad appeared briefly in a couple of episodes of series 30 as an extra teacher." Hi Nicola and thanks for the news - we'll look out for Alex. Do you know we never thought of Alex as being the "last in that long line" - good luck to her for the future!
In a Stew over Mark's absence
Josephine Lawson-Tancred:
"I think your Star File/School Report bit of you site is really good. But I was just wondering why Stewpot doesn't have a section. Because he was quite an important character and Pogo, Claire, Suzanne and Duane have sections. He was my favourite character from that cast so I thought he should have one. But all the same that bit of the site is really good. Thanks." Hi Josephine - we agree Stewpot was a key character but the problem is there just isn't enough info on certain Grange Hill actors to make a Star File, and at the moment Mark Burdis is one of them. Sorry about that, but here we never say never!
