The To-Do List

Inspired by Mike Gayle's book the 'To -Do list' I have created my own. Now I am taking a year off studying before starting an MA, I have plenty of things to keep me going. Projects that have had to be neglected for quite some time, so this is what I plan to do with my days off over the coming year. My very own 'To Do List'.
1. Have a clearout. I have so much junk I think I need to hire a skip for a week!! I really don't know where to start.
2. Decorate. I haven't decorated in so long and want a new colour scheme. Am also thinking of having a furniture clearout and going for a minimalist look. Out can go all the ornaments that I have been given over the years and never look at for a start. I think the local charity shops are going to do well out of me!!!
3. Come back on GHO more frequently (well, it appears I'v made a start on that one already).
4. Enjoy the DVD's of my favourite shows including GH that I never get time to watch, as long as they don't distract me too much from the clearout and decorating!!! ha.ha.
5. Go on holiday without having to take any textbooks with me for the first time in god knows how long.
6. Learn to play the guitar properly. Not sure the neighbours will approve of that one, but they are noisy enough themselves anyway. Learnt two chords in primary school, but have always wanted to learn to play properly for quite some time.
7. Finally make some photo albums/scrapbooks of times past for colleagues that I have been promsing to do for quite some time.
8. Take a few trips to various parts of the country to visit old friends I have been promising visits to for quite some time.
If I manage to do them all within a year remains to be seen , but I'm going to try and I'll keep you all posted!!!
Anyone else got a to do list of things they just never seem to get round to , but are determind to do so the minute they hav some time free?

I suppose the first thing on the list is writing the "to-do" list...

LOL, yeah something like that. However, I have got a relative visiting over the next couple of weeks, but I have made a start and enquired about the cost of hiring a skip, so the clearout starts the minute they have gone home on my first day off.

I have to say I'm a bit of a hoarder.
Not in the Mr. Trebus sense of taking empty crisp wrappers home and stuff like that(those of you might remember the crazy old man from the 90's fly-on-the-wall documentary), but I now have have 3,000 episodes of Home and Away on VCR or DVD, a 70% complete collection of Autosports, and a large collection of DVD's and books. I guess however, I just have a thirst for knowledge. Problem is never really get round to organising things completely properly.

Thats part of the reason I need a clearout. I need to make room for my open university books for when I start my MA next year. I hate parting with books, but whats the point in keeping ones you've had for over twenty years and never going to read again? I keep my GH ones as I sometimes read them in an hour for a quick escape from adult life and get transported back to my childhood!!
