An Education (on DVD). I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Carey Mulligan was excellent and fully deserved her BAFTA award. If it had been an American film it would probably won an Oscar too.

I recently completed an extended bout of jury service so am getting quite in to courtroom dramas (what with me fancying myself as a bit of a legal expert all of a sudden). So the last couple of films I've watched have been the sublime 12 Angry Men and the hilariously-titled Inherit The Wind. Fnar and indeed fnar.

Leon. The picture quality on BluRay is stunning. I watched the directors cut version which is 23 minutes longer.

Julie and Julia. Not a film about Freddie Mainwaring's love life, but one about two cooks. Meryl Streep who plays Julia reminds me of a slightly tipsy Mrs Holmes. I never thought I would enjoy a film about cooking, but I found it quite amusing.

Well, can't same I'm up to date with the latest right now. I watched Peter Jackson's King Kong on my new portable dvd player the other night. Watched the orignal too for the first time several months ago. The new one had good bit and bad bits I thought. Some of the special effects were very good, other effects were just more computer graphics to me. Could almost have been two films as it was long.

2012  The special effects are amazing. It's a frightening thought; could anything like this ever happen?

St. Trinians 2 - The Legend Of Fritton's Gold. Not as good as the first one, but still very enjoyable.
