I know this poll/question/topic must of been asked on the internet time after time about which is your favourite final Episode of Grange Hill. Though now somehow it has more prominence now I think with Grange Hill having no further Series'.

I have added a poll but it would be good as well I to discuss final Episodes of Grange Hill Series' too including any i'venot mentioned too which are members favourites.

to be honest my all time favourite is series 19 with the six formers dancing in the staff room to grease music. Followed by the farewell in series 21 to dennis.

Sort of following on from the last point and not trying to be awkward, my favourite "season finale", is Series 7. Granted the musifc definitely ages it, however I think it is quite defining in many ways because I believe it does mark the end of what could possibly be classed as the first era, that runs from 78-84, an era where the show is set in a smaller school, with an apparently smaller cast of characters, and in some respects, bar the third years and Miss McCluskey, effectively a completely new cast as well.

I've said before, but there is episodes or sometimes a couple of episodes in a row when the defintion of the eras is so marked and this is one. It does feel in a way like a dance or disco at the end of term, where you all meet up, knowing that you won't see them again. You actually feel like you have seen many of them grow up and now they're leaving, perhaps how teachers feel at these things as well.

Series 10 should have the feeling, but I don't feel it. Perhaps because the music used was more party, than the Spandau Ballet track used in Series 7. Series 12 has the same feeling in a way to Series 7. I like Mrs McCluskey leaving montage at the end of the episode, however I actually struggle to remember what happens in the rest of the episode which ultimately can't be good.

Out of those listed "The Prom" has to be my favourite, but I would go along with Arches and say my favourite of all time is the performance of Grease in series 19.

I'd have gone for series 7 - the disco, given the choice.
But there are definitely a lot of good ones.
I remember a thread on this in the old forum but never a poll - good idea.

"Season" openers and closers are always good in Grange Hill.  I voted for the "Clash of the Rambos", but I loved the fete too, and Kenny's wedding.  For the record (did we have this before?) a summary of endings and non-endings, if you get my drift.

1. Trisha and Benny bunk off (not really a series ending)
2. End of Term quiz against Brookdales
3. Everyone unites against Doyle after he bins Penny's project.
4. Boys vs Girls competition.
5. End of Term Exams
6. Bring Back Scruffy
7. End of Term Disco
8. Mods and Rockers Musical
9. Fun Run
10. Staff vs Pupils Cricket
11. Prize giving wear-what-you-like fete
12. Clash of the Rambos Prom
13. Mike runs his race (yawn!)
14. Natalie sings as Mrs. McClusky leaves.
15. Fashion show and baseball match.
16. Kenny and Ruth get married.
17. East German trip, Mrs. Monroe and Martha leave.
18. School video is premiered, Jacko and Becky go up, up and away.
19. Grease-like show & Mrs. Maguire's baby.
20. Matt Smith streaks round school, and Animal Hill is performed.
21. Surprise party for Dennis.
22. Kamal goes to court.
23. Fund raising bonfire & Double Dare Gang performance.
24. Talent Show
25. School explodes into little bits.
26. Sports Day.
27. Open Day with a rampaging goat.
28. (penultimate episode) My Fair Lady & No Malarky videos are shown
29. The results of the Enterprise Competition
30. End of term Prom.
31. School doesn't blow up.

The 87 series was the most poignant as it was really sad watching Ant Jones an iconic figure in grange hill's history walk away from the school. Really memorable.
