School Days: 1978-1982
The original Grange Hill rebel still haunts the school
to this day. Peter Jenkins was your typical Cockney lad;
gift of the gab, a nose for trouble and caused his teachers
to get a few grey hairs! He never took school seriously
and was scheming in a good-natured sort of way. No-one
knows where his nickname originates from; Tucker was the
undisputed ringleader of his circle of friends (Alan Humphries,
Benny Green and Tommy Watson). He was also the only person
who could stand up to Mickey Doyle.
Tucker would have done well if only he'd knuckled down.
A talented artist, he demonstrated his skills in the
school musical and designed the winning graphics for
the school magazine. His bickering with Trisha Yates
masked a secret admiration for her; but he'd never admit
it. Rightly or wrongly, there was only one Tucker Jenkins.

CATCHPHRASES: Tucker
and co coined them all: "Flippin' eck", "He's
a nutjob" and "bonehead" was the preferred
playground speak.
FAMILY: Tucker was the middle
child in a family of five. He lived with his parents, an older
brother (never seen) and little sister Rhona, a late addition
to the family. Rhona never appeared in Grange Hill but was seen
in the spin-off, "Tucker's Luck".
ASSOCIATES: Alan Humphries,
Benny Green, Tommy Watson, Joseph Hughes, Trisha Yates, Justin
Bennett.
CURRENT WHEREABOUTS: After
leaving school Tucker struggled to find work. But he has finally
found his calling and, perhaps inspired by the dear departed
Albert Humphries, is now running his own builder's yard. Nephews
Patrick "Togger" Johnson, Tim "Tigger" and
neice Lucy are now all at Grange Hill.
