Well-mannered and studious, Penny was the archetypal swot and took her schoolwork very seriously. That made
her the natural choice for the school council which she
believed was the best way to represent the interests of her fellow
pupils. She took great pride in her work as first year rep and flatly refused to succumb to intimidation from SAG.
Unfortunately this passion for the school council
also brought out her weakness; if she felt anyone abused
their position (such as Doyle) she would speak out, even
if that meant putting her own position at risk. Penny
enjoyed a comfortable home life and her mum was easy-going.
PENNY'S
SCHOOL REPORT
Series
2: Penny takes over from Ann Wilson on the
school council and successfully argues for a combined
book and tuck shop, but neither come to pass when the
necessary funds are diverted elsewhere. Penny stands up
to SAG's intimidatory tactics and gets lost with Susi
on the school field trip.
Series 3: Penny writes
an inflammatory article about Doyle's lack of action on
the school council and when she refuses to apologise to
him, Penny is banned from writing for the school magazine.
Doyle also steals Penny's project, but she has the last
laugh when he is sacked from the school council.
Series 4: Penny is
not seen this series, apparently having broken her leg.
Series 5: There's
one final appearance for Penny as the master of ceremonies
at the school revue.
