As headmistress, Mrs Bassinger takes a very passionate
view about her role at Grange Hill. She always leads by
example; firm-but-fair with a determination to make sure
things run her way. Now in her third year as headmistress,
she is no longer in Mr Robson's shadow and sets about
implementing her own mandate for the school.
Mrs Bassinger cares about her pupils and takes a genuine
interest in their welfare. A fair-minded figure, she
plays mediator and disciplinarian yet still maintains
an approachable demeanour. When not busy running the
school, she teaches history.
