No malarkey! Mr Malachay (Chris) started as head of sport
and it wasn't long before he was promoted to head of ICT.
A firm believer in making the best of what you've got,
Mr Malachay worked his way up and believed there was no
excuse for not giving 100% at all times. Malachay seemed
to be everywhere at once and was a formidable force against
the pupils. He wouldn't stand any nonsense and was annoyed
by time wasters.
Totally ruthless, he resented Mrs Bassinger for getting
the top job and right to the end had designs on making
Grange Hill his own. Chris also filled in as a French
teacher and personal trainer. With a permanently high
opinion of himself it's no wonder he was a slime-ball
to some, though others found him charming.

REASON FOR LEAVING: In a
first for Grange Hill, Malachay defected to its arch-rival,
St Joseph's. Maybe they had a headship going.
