After his appointment as Grange
Hill's new deputy head, Stephen Deverill was determined
to strengthen discipline in the school. He came from
Congreve Hall, an elite public school, and firmly believed
the pupils should know their place. Mr Robson was a
"liberal do-gooder" and the school needed
a kick up the backside in his opinion.
But there was more to Deverill than meets the eye. His
real name was Wilcox - he was sacked from Congreve for
assaulting pupils and assumed the identity of a colleague
- the real Mr Deverill - to get the job at Grange Hill.
Mr Deverill could make trouble where it didn't exist and
often put his foot in it. Devious, evil and not to be
trusted, his quest for power knew no bounds and he'd go
to extraordinary lengths to get what he wanted. |
