Mid-20s, teaching assistant Miss Bettany's
nickname is ‘better than me’ because she’s always interfering
in other peoples' business, teachers and pupils alike, and is
full of her own self-importance. She thinks pupils don’t
treat her with the same respect as a qualified teacher but has an "I'm
alright Jack" attitude towards any lost Year 7s who ask
her for directions. She has a secret crush on Mr McDonnell,
even though he's old enough to be her dad!
Series 31: Miss Bettany organises a young chefs competition and tries, unsuccessfully, to persuade Alex to take part. Theo and Laxo set her up on their first day. Miss Bettany incurs Kathy's wrath by sitting back and relaxing during the team-building exercise, and gives Simon Cowell a run for his money as a judge on the school music contest.
