After blagging his way into the sixth form, Max uses his
seniority to affirm himself as THE bully of Grange Hill.
He gets his kicks from other people's misfortune and,
with brother Mooey, moves around Grange Hill with such
stealth that his victims don't really notice until it's
too late. Where his brother is the brawn, he's the brains.
Max is a shark and is not afraid to throw his weight around
if his reputation is in danger. A reputation which carries
less weight now most have seen him for the buffoon he
really is. His mum is a vicar - something Max is keen
to keep quiet...

to the storyline in but tries unsuccessfully to avenge
Togger for grassing him up. All Max's efforts get him

him to do his homework. When Kathy convinces Martin
of his intentions, Max punches Martin when he attempts

Max falls and breaks his arm. Both are excluded.

amusement of his peers! The Humphries are left outcasts
when Togger tells Miss Gayle what they've been doing to
Alex - a disgruntled Max takes his frustrations out on
Ross at the dance contest (he was due to be partnering
Karen) and spikes Martin's orange juice with vodka.
