SCHOOL DAYS: 1988-1990
Move over Gripper - Mauler McCaul was the new school hardman
in the late 1980s. An American football fan, McCaul loved
nothing better than terrorising first years; tying them
up, extorting money and chasing them around the school
with his "gridiron crew" Ted, Sid and Spit.
Mauler was fearsome and you crossed him at your peril.
But Mauler was more stupid than evil; he wasn't academically
brilliant though he did stay on in the sixth form. Strangely,
Mauler was a talented chef but if you told him cooking
was for girls...well! |
