School Days: 1996-1997 COMMENTS: Joanna started off as one of the girls, with a healthy interest in lads and fashion. But the sixth form turned her into a man-eating vamp who'd toy with the affections of any boy she wanted. This had an especially devastating effect on Chris Longworth. Behind the facade was an unhappy and very insecure girl. Mum was hardly around so she turned to drinking; when her problems came to a head Joanna left Grange Hill for a new start. Joanna was a talented singer and loved drama.

NOT A BAD GIRL REALLY? No. Just mixed up. Away from the drink she was a good friend and fun to be with; her tough exterior made it hard for her to express her feelings.

	JOANNA'S SCHOOL REPORT
	Year 11: Joanna is spooked by a stalker. She thinks it's one of the electricians but it turns out to be Dudley! Joanna takes part in the school musical, Grease. Year 12: Joanna has a brief fling with Josh, then turns her attentions to Chris. He falls in love and can't cope when she blows him out. Joanna is secretly drinking; her moods upset her friends and Ray sacks her from The Arches. Carlene finds Joanna slumped in the toilets. Year 13: Joanna's drinking continues. Ray finds her unconscious outside The Arches and she's rushed to hospital. There she confronts Mum for never being around. After giving a poignant talk to her classmates, Joanna leaves Grange Hill for a fresh start, reconciled with everyone.

FAMILY: Joanna lived with her mum and two brothers, Eddie and David. Mum was a high-powered career woman who was hardly around.
