School Days: 1990-1996
Jacko arrived as a cheerful, forthright Year 7 and was
a pleasant young man throughout his time at Grange Hill.
He had a healthy appetite for fun and games, but also
a habit of bringing mischief with him. His first day at
Grange Hill was memorable when his dog followed him to
school! Jacko was not afraid to stand up for his friends
and didn't suffer the Timpson brothers gladly. |

The decline of his mother's mental health turned his life
upside down from Year 10 but moulded him into a sensitive,
caring young man. While Jacko had to take more responsibility
and nurse his mum back to health, he remained a typical teenage
lad with a healthy interest in football and his mates.
FAMILY: Apparently an
only child, Jacko lived with mum and dad on a local estate.
They thought the world of him and got on well (most of the
time!)
ROMANCE: Dated classmate
Becky Stevens from Year 11 onwards.

Series 13: Jacko's
dog Gruff follows him to school on his first day at
Grange Hill, his barking disrupts assembly.
Series 14: Jacko,
Locko and Brian plan to stow away to Edinburgh, but
get on the wrong coach. Just as well, for Brian is feeling
ill. Jacko suspects something is seriously wrong and
was right to be concerned - Brian is suffering from
leukaemia.
Series 15: Jacko
and the boys launch a car-washing service to rival the
girls. Business is slow so they "dirty" a
few cars - unfortunately, one of them belongs to Mad
Max Hargreaves! Jacko gets a bucket of slop thrown at
him by a disgruntled customer.
Year 10: Towards
the end of the year, Jacko becomes withdrawn and later
admits his mum has suffered a nervous breakdown.
Year 11: Jacko
helps his mum in her slow recovery. He and Becky take
her to Southwold, where she spent her childhood, in
a bid to boost her spirits. Jacko and Becky are soon
going steady.
Year 12: Jacko
is frustrated that he can't walk with Becky to her work
placement at a woman's refuge (due to the refuge's rules). He follows her regardless
and saves the day when Becky is attacked by Anna's brother,
Gordon. Brian and Gabriel are working at a coach firm
and send a party of OAPs out with a dirty video for
entertainment. Jacko gets on his bike and speeds after
the coach - delivering the right video just in time.
Year 13: Becky
and Jacko remain an item in their final year at school,
both working on the school musical Grease.
