Gyngell stands out from the rest of the
Grange Hill pupils for many reasons, not least because he's
much taller than average, lanky, and wears thick rimmed specs.
He's the sci-fi fan with an obsession for Star Trek. Gyngell
is often found in the library reading books with a homemade magnifying
glass contraption attached to his head, while listening to classical
music on his MP3. His dad owns a pet shop, which is great for
someone with his interest in science.
Year
7 Gyngell agrees to get Theo and Laxo some eggs
for their science project - but as he's already
doing chickens he gets them some snake eggs which
hatch. Theo and Laxo taunt Gyngell on the bridge-building
task but his height comes in handy when he retrieves
the clue from a tree.
