School Days: 2003-2005

Annie led a sad and turbulent life while at Grange Hill. She and brother Baz had to cope with their father's mental illness and Annie found it hard. She was devoted to her dad and will do anything to protect him, but even she could be frightened by his violent mood swings. Baz and Annie's predicament brought them together and they're a close unit. Annie couldn't forgive her mum for walking out on the family.

By Year 9 things looked to have settled down and Annie looked forward to a more normal teenage way of life. However, Annie's relationship with her mother led her to take more desperate measures, which ultimately became her undoing.

REASON FOR LEAVING: Caught stealing a school laptop to pay off a credit card bill. Moved to a new school.

ANNIE'S SCHOOL REPORT
Year 7 Annie was twice found with stolen items but insisted she didn't take them. Emma thought Annie was a thief and was determined to put her down. At home, Annie got a black eye when Dad picked a fight with Baz. Eventually Annie confided in Maddie about her dad's illness. This resulted in a huge bust-up and Dad beat Baz to a pulp; as Baz fought for life in intensive care, Annie blamed Maddie for his predicament.

Year 8: Dad is sectioned and Annie is furious when her estranged mother turns up to take charge. Rather than live with her new family, she and Baz put themselves in care. Annie lets fly at her dad, blaming him for not being able to have a normal teenage life. Annie delights in vilifying Emma when she is exposed as the giver of Miss Dyson's presents, but Miss Dyson helps Annie and Emma to become friends.

Year 9: Tired of Baz getting all the attention, Annie applies for a credit card in her mum's name and soon runs up a huge bill. In desperation she tries selling whatever she can and even steals one of the school laptops. Annie and Baz are caught red-handed trying to replace the pilfered PC.
