Claire and Antoni say hello!
REMEMBER CLAIRE SCOTT AND Antoni Karamonopolis
from the early years of Grange Hill? The actors who played them join a growing
band of cast members to write in to our letters page, CAN U HELP.
Paula Triplett (formerly known as Paula-Ann Bland) played Claire
Scott from 1981 - she was best known for her diary storyline in which she
concocted a fake affair with form tutor Mr Hopwood. Mum discovered the diary,
and it wasn't long before Claire's dad was marching to Grange Hill intent on knocking
seven bells out of Hoppy! Luckily the truth emerged and all that came away bruised
was Claire's ego.
Vinny Mann, formerly Vivian Mann, remains active in the showbiz
world and has the dubious honour of being the first death in Grange Hill.
In 1980 his character, Antoni Karamonopolis, plunged from a multi-storey
car park in a dare that went tragically wrong.
