THE WEEKLY NEWS FROM GH ONLINE
Issue 46 06 March 2005

Hello!

A very dramatic week on Grange Hill with feelings and secrets coming to the fore on the outdoor trip, but back at school tragedy struck when Alex found the solution to all his problems. It's been eventful for GH Online too with a new look for the Forum!

THE STORY SO FAR...
Togger and Andy took the lads' clothes to dress a cardboard dummy they hoisted into the girl's dorm. It was meant to scare the Year 7 girls but terrified Tanya. Chloe told everyone Togger and Andy were responsible. Mr Fox continued to impress with his survival skills. Miss Adams had a call from Mrs Bassinger, informing her of Max's accident. Annie panicked but Baz was OK. Annie confronted Togger over his prank and Tanya was furious. Miss Adams gave everyone back their mobiles; Alison told her mum she'd had a shower in the night.

The staff led everyone to a corn maze; the challenge was to be first to make it to the centre. Alex went with Tigger and Ed, leaving Alison on her own. She met up with the Wannabees who speculated as to who took the shower. Sammy paired up with Alison, pushing Chloe's nose firmly out of joint. Alex and Tigger left Ed on his own. Andrea and Chloe jumped him and took his trousers! Tanya became detached from Annie and Emma; Tigger, Alex, Sammy and Alison paired up; Alex was delighted to see Alison but couldn't quite bring himself to reveal his true feelings. Togger and Andy bickered over the best way of tackling the maze and ended up going their separate ways.

Tanya was in a panic while Annie and Emma continued the search. She screamed out for help and Togger, who was nearby, heard her cries. When he found Tanya they fell into each other's arms. Annie let slip it was Alison in the shower to Chloe and Andrea. Sammy and Alison came first and won a compass each. Andy was second - and gutted not to have won. Annie and Emma worried about Tanya but were relieved when she surfaced with Togger. Back at the centre, Tanya confided in Togger she was scared her attacker remained at large. They formed a bond but agreed to keep their distance like before.

The Wannabees confronted Alison and pulled up her top - she had severe eczema on her stomach. Alex froze on discovering Alison's secret; then a bad choice of words made Alex look like he was agreeing she was a "freak". The Wannabees - and Ed - chided him for not sticking up for her. Alex found Alison down by the stream, in tears. Alison rounded on him, saying she didn't care about him. As she ran off, Alex broke down.

Baz and Max returned following their exclusions. Mrs Bassinger agreed to give Baz a fresh start. She told Mr Wainwright Annie was making good progress at school. Annie opened her credit card bill and was horrified to find she owed over £600. Baz demanded to know where she got the money from for Tanya's clothes. Tanya gave Annie a cheque but it was made out to Annie's mum - how would she get of this one?

Chloe and Andrea turned their venomous attentions to Alison. Alex tried apologising to Alison but she was uneasy around him. Abel refused to play in the school match. Togger accused him of letting his mates down and refused to let Abel copy his work. Max's arm was broken but he took another shot at Baz who pinned him to the wall. Mr Wainwright broke up the sparring pair. Maddie and Baz appeared to be getting on, but Baz said he couldn't be "just friends". Dad almost caught Annie with her credit card bill. Baz caught Annie selling CDs and she claimed she'd got them off Dad's credit card. Annie carpeted Baz for getting excluded.

Tanya found an e-mail from a girl claiming to have had a similar encounter with her attacker. Tanya feared it was really him - on the other hand it could be genuine. Karen urged her to tell someone. Alex tried again to apologise to Alison - saying he wouldn't be bothering her again. He continued his video diary, saying the only time he could shut everything out was when he was under water. Spencer sent Alex away when he tried handing over the footage. Alex left the DVDs on the table.

The school got ready for the football match. Alex took a detour back to Miss Adams' classroom, where he filled his bag with heavy textbooks. He proceeded to the swimming pool and threw himself in. Spencer sifted through Alex' footage and remained oblivious to his agonies - then came across a DVD labelled "For Mum and Dad". Spencer hurried to the pool and was joined by Baz, who found the lifeless Alex face-down in the water. Baz couldn't pull him out. The pair got the bag off and pulled Alex out of the pool. Spencer shouted for help as they tried to resuscitate him. Annie and Tanya witnessed the horror and called an ambulance.

As Mr Malachay rushed to the pool, Tanya and Annie vowed no matter how bad things got, they'd never consider ending it all. Alex regained consciousness and was taken away in an ambulance; Mr Malachay praised Baz for his swift actions but Spencer realised he'd let Alex down big time.
