THE WEEKLY NEWS FROM GH ONLINE
Issue 41 30 January 2005

Hi folks...

Radio Grange Hill is live again (or "The Hill" as it's now known) but it was almost a disaster with public spats and Kat wielding the axe. And poor old Alex...Ed forgot his birthday and he got an unwelcome present from Mooey. Meanwhile Thomas Hudson (Baz) dropped us a line this week - read on for what he had to say!

THE STORY SO FAR...
Tanya discovered Togger sabotaged her blog. The staff were not impressed by Tanya's pink jacket and later on she got her hair caught in the zip. Sammy's dad caught her sneaking sweets out of the shop and demanded half the profits. Year 9 thought Mr Fox had flipped when he started making toast in class to teach probability.

Ms Lawrence paired Year 7 up for an advertising project; Ed chose to work with Tigger, leaving Alex left out but Alison offered to work with him. Mooey grabbed Alex but was disturbed by Ms Lawrence. Tigger wondered if Alex and Alison were an item. Alison tried getting friendly with Chloe & co.

At the radio meeting, Kat was elected editor against Kathy who only got Martin's vote. Maddie blagged her way into the lunchtime slot. Mooey cornered Alex and warned Alex to find him every breaktime "or else". Baz insisted he was over Maddie but Kathy could tell he wasn't. He tried to make Maddie jealous by telling her he was seeing another girl. Only the entrance of Ms Lawrence and a photographer prevented a catfight between Maddie and Kathy!

Togger was tense in anticipation of the football trials. Abel put a goal in past Togger, who was furious. By the time of Year 11's trial, everything that could go wrong did! The scout couldn't believe his eyes and Malachay dropped Baz from the team.

It was Alex's birthday. Tigger and Ed were selling fake Togger signatures! Grange Hill was wired for sound as The Hill prepared for launch. Maddie turned up late for a production meeting. The meeting soon descended into a slanging match lead by Kathy and Maddie - Mr Malachay rushed to the radio room and everyone was horrified as he was to discover the in-fighting had been broadcast round the school!

Tanya got herself a "chic" French bag but Andy exposed it as a fake. She received e-mails from her French e-mail friends - one of them, Jean, appeared to be interested in her. Andy reconciled Togger and Abel. Mooey collared Alex in front of Alison; she became more concerned.

Kat sacked Maddie and Kat; Karen found herself in the hot seat but didn't have a clue, she asked Taylor and he reluctantly agreed. Mr Fox brought in Derek the rabbit to teach Year 7 about Fibonacci's Golden Ratio. The bunny escaped and soon found its way into the CLC! Spencer organised a vote for the DVD project and made Kathy his assistant producer. Karen and Taylor shared a kiss; she didn't know how to interpret it and Maddie was jealous.

Togger received a reply from the French school he e-mailed; the recipients imagined Grange Hill to be like Hogwarts! Derek the rabbit escaped and found his way to the CLC; the lads used the green screen to show a giant Derek on top of the school roof! Alex was left to enjoy the cake on his own, tears streaming down his face. When he finally reminded Ed what day it was, Ed was wracked with guilt but Alex didn't want to know him.

Catch Grange Hill every Monday and Wednesday at 4:35pm on BBC1!

FOLLOWING A RECENT QUESTION

Thomas confirms Joanne Taylor's belief that he did play Buttons at the Victoria Theatre in Halifax, not the Broker's Man as stated on the poster. THE CAMPAIGNING MUST GO ON...
Although most of GH Online is now back, we can't afford to take the heat off Mersey TV who are still threatening the site with legal action and our Webmaster with legal action. Since January 10 we have been unable touse any Mersey TV photos, even video captures of the new series, in a long-running dispute over the use of copyrighted images on GH Online.

If you haven't done so already, please e-mail both Mersey TV and the BBC to tell them how you feel. Click here for full details of how to show support.
