Grange Hill Locations - Then And Now

Introduction

Series 25 was the last Borehamwood year for Grange Hill before it moved to Merseyside.  Because I've not collected many photos for this era yet, I've lumped the series together.  Borehamwood's main high street (Shenley Road) is hugely visible during this time, and you can see the traffic calming that was introduced.

Living on the Streets

Wayne and girlfriend search for Alec who's been living rough among the down and outs at the "Westway Flyover" 

In fact this is the pedestrian underpass at Apex Corner, Mill Hill.  This is several miles from Borehamwood, where the A41 meets the A1. Here in the centre, you can walk to three passageways that lead out to different sides of the carriageway.  You can see there are now traffic lights, and make out the Shell garage sign in roughly the same place.

A dark and forbidding place...

One of the three Underpasses below the busy A41, looks a little brighter with the new tiles.
