Fast-talking and cheeky, yet ultimately
endearing, Togger is a great friend to have and the people's
hero. He quickly established himself as Grange Hill's prankster-in-chief,
and anyone's fair game. Mind you, he's had an excellent tutor
- his uncle is the one and only Tucker Jenkins, who caused Grange
Hill staff many headaches as a pupil. Togger hates bullies -
so much so that he put his neck on the line last year to bring
to justice Alex's tormentors, and has a good sense of right
or wrong. But he's definitely no swot and does as much work
as he has to and if there's an easy way out he'll take it. As
he's matured Togger has found his good looks haven't gone unnoticed
among the girls - but there's only one girl for him, his former
arch-enemy Tanya.

Year
7 Togger and Andy are ushered into school by
Uncle Peter. Togger masterminds the "sacred
undies" challenge with Andy and Abel. He enjoys
an illicit swim in the school pool, and steals the
skeleton hanging in Mr Robson's office. Togger is
first to discover Tranter and gradually gains his
trust; when Tranter falls ill the lads defend their
decision to say nothing. Togger, Abel and Andy are
barred from sports day.
Year 8: Togger hears about the Grange
Hill time capsule from Uncle Peter and is determined
to find it. Wally catches the lads digging up
the school lawn; and the quest lands them in trouble
during cross-country. Togger and Abel interview
Bill Winston, the oldest surviving Grange Hill
pupil, for their class presentation. They don't
bother to do any work and discover Bill has died
when they make a return visit. Togger agonises
whether to tell Andy about Emma, and when events
overtake them Andy is furious Togger kept quiet.
Year 9: Togger worries he'll be seriously
embarrassed by little bro Tigger and his worries
prove justified after an eventful Year 7 induction
day. Togger is devastated when he fails to get into
the football academy, but the demands it places
on Abel almost destroys their friendship. Togger
rescues Tanya from her abductor and the pair begin
to develop an understanding.
Year 10: It's another hectic year for
Togger, he, Andy and Abel find themselves locked
in a shed full of wild animals when Togger should
be in "detention" filming a wedding
video with Tanya. Togger is challenged to improve
the state of the school toilets; no-one is interested
in his crusade and even Andy tells him to throw
in the towel. At the end of the year brand-spanking
new loos are opened - Togger is pleased with himself.
Tanya is elected school rep unopposed when Togger
nominates her. Togger and Tanya share a tender
moment on the last day of term; Tanya waits for
him after school but he's too busy sorting out
Tigger's scrape with Mooey. As Tanya walks off
into the sunset, Togger is gutted at missing his
chance.
Year 11: There's more for Togger to cope
with as sister Lucy joins Year 7. Jeremy submits
a radio request for Tanya in Togger's name, but
he has no idea what's going on and when Tanya
tries to thank him for his kind words, they end
up bickering. Togger asks Anna out to make Tanya
jealous. Togger is determined to do Baz some serious
damage on the football pitch but is full of guilt
when Baz dies. Tanya tries to counsel him but
he can't think of romance at this stage. As the
year progresses, Tanya and Togger finally develop
a bond but he doesn't know how to make the first
move - finally they kiss after the dance contest
- after she first slaps him! Togger and Tanya
plan to make their grand entrance as a couple
at the school prom, but once Togger learns of
Emma's pregnancy he realises things are over before
they've even begun.
Year 12: Togger is elected head boy -
but by only one vote after Lucy's plan to sabotage
his campaign backfires.
