"Tanya's always so well turned-out",
"Karen's so clever"; Jenny is understandably fed up
with comparisons with her sisters, but herself is less worried
about how she looks - or what boys think of her. Instead she
chooses to channel her energies into whatever she's campaigning
about. Jenny has a social conscience and prides herself on not
following the cult of celebrity or succumbing to marketing.
She is good friends with Jake, despite their differring personalities,
and is also a bit of a tomboy who likes a good game of football.

7 Jenny embarks upon a self-cleaning hair experiment
- she hopes not to have to wash her hair for six
weeks to prove shampoo isn't a necessity but she
ends up with nits! Jenny takes Tanya's instruction
to support Karen at the dance contest too literally;
she and Jake make an exhibition of themselves and
end up incurring the wrath of Miss Gayle.
Year 8 Jake and Jenny organise a protest
when footballer Dwayne Miller comes to Grange Hill
- but it fails to have any impact when Dwayne is
smuggled in through the back entrance to avoid the
placard wavers. The war between Lucy and Jenny intensifies,
with Jenny increasingly exposing Lucy as vain and
self-interested.
