Confident, authoritarian and having now
succeeded in becoming the new head tacher, Miss Gayle has wasted
no time making her presence felt all round the school, she's
always first through the door in the morning and last to leave
at night! Miss Gayle does not suffer troublemakers gladly
but sometimes lacks tact and diplomacy when dealing with the
pupils.

30: Miss Gayle appears to be running Grange
Hill almost single-handedly, with Mrs Bassinger
nowhere to be seen. She excludes Alex for bullying
Bryn, but with Togger's help Alex is able to tell
her about his ongoing ordeal at the hands of the
Humphries brothers.
