Mid-20s, teaching assistant Miss Bettany's
nickname is ‘betterthanme’ because she’s always interfering
in other peoples' business, teachers and pupils alike, and is
full of her own self-importance. She thinks that pupils don’t
treat her with the same respect as a qualified teacher and will
readily tick off pupils for not showing respect but has an "I'm
alright Jack" attitude towards any lost Year 7s who ask
her for directions. She has a secret crush on Mr McDonnell,
even though he's old enough to be her dad!
