A series of Grange Hill novels were produced to accompany the series;
most were specially-written stories and were not written by the usual
Grange Hill scriptwriters. Published by Fontana Lions and later Magnet,
they were popular with young readers and below are details. The
books are now out of print. However, copies still turn up
at car boot sales, etc. You could also try Twiggers, an online bookshop
which offers a search facility for deleted books. For further information

GRANGE
HILL RULES OK? by Robert Leeson
Pub: Fontana
ISBN No: 0 00 671658 |

|
 |
For the kids at Grange Hill Comprehensive - Tucker, Benny, Trisha,
Cathy, Justin and Penny in particular - it was obviously not
going to be a peaceful term. School Council's plans for a fund-raising
competition against Brookdale were giving rise to extra aggro
even before things started, and Tucker noticed that as soon
as one thing went right, another went wrong. What Tucker didn't
know was just how wrong. |

HILL GOES WILD by Robert Leeson

The end of term mood in the Grange Hill staff room was gloomy.
The thought of supervising a chaotic school camp, with Tucker
Jenkins in tow, was enough to dampen any teacher's holiday spirit.
Meanwhile, Tucker had other things on his mind. To be precise,
he had no intention whatsoever of going to camp. He, Alan and
Benny had another trip planned, of a completely different nature.
But at Paddington Station things began to go wrong. |

Grange Hill was in for a hard time. The message came over loud
and clear at the first assembly in the Spring Term. "This
term and the next one are going to be tough. The future of this
school is in the balance. Within months important decisions
will be made - decisions about whether or not there will be
a Grange Hill. The schools with the best exam passes, sports
performance - and public behaviour - will survive. And that
depends on all of us." But who really wants to save Grange
Hill anyway, let alone put up a fight? Tucker Jenkins and his
mates? Surely not! |

|
 |
What's Tucker Jenkins up to skulking around Grange Hill? Is
it possible he's losing his usual confidence? Surely not. Yet
his rebellious attack on Mr. Sutcliffe doesn't have its desired
effect, and lands Tucker in deeper trouble than he bargained
for. And on top of this life outside Grange Hill is becoming
difficult too. Even Tucker's friends, Alan, Tommy and Benny
can't understand what's got into him. Meanwhile, first formers
Zammo and Jonah are learning the hard way how to survive at
Grange Hill - keep out of Gripper Stebson's path - but if you
can't, retaliate. And although Annette Firman thinks she's too
tough to be got at, she doesn't realise her classmates have
finally decided something must be done to put her in her place. |

"The time has come for an easing in the routine. A trip

are setbacks even before they have even set foot on the 'plane,
like where to go and how to raise the money. But clever clogs
Annette Firman has no shortage of ideas and Gripper Stebson
knows who's going to pay towards his trip...Even ex-pupils Tucker
Jenkins and Alan Humphries find themselves caught up in the
plans. |

GREAT
DAYS AT GRANGE HILL by Jan Needle
Pub:Fontana
ISBN No: 0-00-672211-3 |
|
 |
|
 |
It's the first day at Grange Hill. The headmistress beamed at
her new class. "Let's hope," she said, "that
it is a happy experience for everyone." Judy knew it wouldn't
be, Ann Wilson thought it might. Tucker Jenkins wondered how
long it was till dinner, and Trisha Yates stared at his head,
brooding darkly, before leaning forward to take his first revenge.
The first of many. Things are already happening fast at this
new school. What "happy experiences" does Grange Hill
have in store for them? |
