What's happened to GH Online, and why are few pictures of the current cast available?
On Monday 10 January 2005, Lime Pictures (formerly Mersey TV) got the site suspended in a long-running dispute over use of images owned by the company. We were back later that day but with a much-reduced site and none of the disputed images. Although this happened a long time ago now, GH Online still cannot show any screen grabs or video clips from series made by Lime Pictures. Some key images remain missing from the site. We apologise for any disappointment, but we are working to resolve the situation as soon as we can.If you think Lime Pictures is being unfair, e-mail them. Click here to show your support.

What is GH Online?
Grange Hill Online is an unofficial fan site for anyone who is, or has been, a fan of TV's favourite school, Grange Hill. From today's fans of Togger and Tigger to older fans who remember their uncle, the great Tucker Jenkins, GH Online is a comprehensive celebration of the series' 30-year lifespan. Launched in September 2000, GH Online covers all aspects of Grange Hill from launch in 1978 to the present day. We have a section called THE KNOW dedicated solely to the current series, while THE HISTORY ZONE looks back at those classic Grange Hill moments. We are keen to emphasise that GH Online is not exclusively a nostalgia site, nor does it concentrate solely on modern-day Grange Hill. We cover the old and the new in equal measures - and everything in between! If you are a Grange Hill cast member, or you ever have been - or you work(ed) on the series behind the scenes, please get in touch! A series of microsites compliment GH Online, dedicated to particular actors. Currently on offer are ToggerWorld, Kacey Barnfield.co.uk, Jessica Staveley-Taylor.co.uk and Ziggy.tv.

Who runs GH Online?
Our Webmasters are Simon and tucker. Simon is a devoted Grange Hill fan who has followed the series for many years. He thinks Grange Hill is in a class of its own (ugh!) and watches today's episodes as well as the old ones. Simon is the founder of GH Online and oversees the editorial content of the site. tucker runs an IT consultancy and looks after the technical side of things; he owns GH Online's domain name and manages the technology for our Forum.

How many hits does GH Online get?
GH Online now gets around 1.8 million hits per month. We got a staggering two million hits on 11 May 2005 following the broadcast on Channel 4 of the programme "Bring Back Grange Hill", in which Justin Lee Collins reunited Grange Hill's class of 1986. Whoever you are, we'd love as many visitors as possible! If you like GH Online, tell your friends.

John Joseph Do the actors read GH Online?
Yes! We are regularly approached by Grange Hill stars old and new, and the list is growing! Among the present cast these include Daniella Fray (Emma), Thomas Hudson (Baz), Kacey Barnfield (Maddie) and Kirsten Cassidy (Tanya). Ex-pupils in our readership include Alison Bettles (Fay Lucas), Belinda Crane (Lucy Mitchell), John Joseph (Ian Hudson), Rachel Victoria Roberts (Justine DeanLee MacDonald (Zammo), Ian Rushmere (Brian Shaw), Mark Savage (Gripper), Melanie Joseph (Lauren Philips), Robert Craig-Morgan (Justin Bennett) and George Christopher (Ziggy Greaves). Lime Pictures, which makes Grange Hill, looks in regularly.

I'm looking for Grange Hill episodes. Can you help?
Sorry but GH Online can only copy episodes for cast or crew members. Otherwise we would have no time to update the site! Please support the official Grange Hill DVDs (series 1 to 4) and if sales are high enough the BBC might be persuaded to release later series.

Video Vault Can I watch Grange Hill on this site?
Yes you can! Our Video Vault offers classic clips to download from 29 years of Grange Hill, everything from the canteen riot to Mr Green whacking Taylor. You'll need RealPlayer to watch the clips; click here to download for free!

Why is there no Star File on my favourite actor?
Information on some Grange Hill actors, especially those from the earlier series, is difficult to obtain. Also, many people who appeared in Grange Hill as children do not go on to pursue a career in entertainment as adults. When this happens, they disappear from the spotlight. We try to include as many actors as possible in Star File but you just don't hear about many of them - sorry.

How can I interact with GH Online?
Very easily! Send you comments or any questions you have about Grange Hill to our Webmaster; the address is on the Contact page. We publish as many letters as possible on Can U Help? (unless you don't want us to) and do our best to answer your questions.

What has happened to the forum?
After several months of operational problems GH Online took the difficult decision to close its forum, The Blackboard, in October 2007. However, we would highly recommend The New Grange Hill Blackboard - a safe and happy community for Grange Hill fans of all ages. As with our old forum, it is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and is free to join! The New Grange Hill Blackboard is not part of GH Online and is owned and seperately managed. When getting in contact please ensure that any enquries about GH Online or The New Grange Hill Blackboard are submitted to the respective admin teams.

Who do I contact with any suggestions/complaints?
