Everyone looks forward
to the end-of-year school prom tonight. Max and Mooey are barred but
don't intend to let a minor detail like that spoil the wrecking spree
they have planned. There's a new twist in Emma's personal life - Mum
is planning to run off to Indonesia and Emma asks Tanya to stay at
her's for a while. Tanya can't really refuse but feels put out. In
the sixth form, a refreshed Kathy announces she'll take control of
her own future, not her parents, and that she's looking at universities
other than Oxbridge.
Emma writes a letter to Kyle to advise him of her predicament.
She is interrupted by Tanya who also sees the pregnancy advice page
she's browsing on the web - why is she looking at that now? Jeremy
tries to talk to Emma but he's his usual bumbling self and ends
up getting a slap when he says the wrong thing. Later, Emma persuades
Mr McDonnell to track down Kyle and forward her letter. The sportsmaster
momentarily leaves his briefcase outside, allowing Jeremy to intercept
the letter and discover the whole truth about her situation.
Donnie presents the Baz Wainwright trophy to its first winner - Togger.
He's thrilled to have won but Donnie finds the presentation extremely
difficult at first, before swallowing his pride. Kathy is most impressed.
Alex sits outside the hall - he's depressed that Ed and Tigger have
deserted him but Alison is confident they'll come round. Later, Alison
confronts Ed and Tigger about their standoffishness - they deserted
Alex when he needed them most, so did they now want to ruin his summer
too? Sure enough, the three boys eventually make their peace.
Alex tries apologising to Bryn, but Bryn is still terrified of
him and falls over while trying to run away. In the canteen, another
sighting of Alex proves too much for Bryn and he smears pasta all
over the walls. Ali manages to cover for Bryn, saying they were
doing an "outrageous dare", but he's starting to lose
patience with Bryn's increasingly bizarre behaviour. After hearing
that Martin is going to Leeds University, Kathy announces she's
going there too but insists that Martin has not influenced her decision.
Martin is delighted his close friend will still be around.
Togger and Tanya arrive at the prom in a huge stretch limo, presenting
themselves to the world as a couple. Their chances of time alone look
limited, however, when Emma bursts in to say her dad and his new family,
including a new baby, will be coming to stay with her. On the dance
floor, Jeremy promises Emma he will always stand by her. Chloe has
a new love interest in her sights - Abel! She and Andrea follow him
like puppies but he tries not to take any notice. Alone at last, Togger
and Tanya decide to both return to the sixth form. For some reason,
Tigger can't bring himself to ask Alison out and Ed quips that history
is repeating itself - look how long it took his brother and Tanya
to get it on! While Tigger dawdles, Ed has wasted no time asking Sammy
for this dance.
The sixth formers part with a "one for all and all for one"
group hug. Max and Mooey are interrupted by McDonnell as they sneak
in through a side entrance. In a comical display of defiance, Max
reminds McDonnell he's no longer a pupil and even challenges the
teacher to a fight. McDonnell reminds him the pupil/teacher relationship
works both ways, so if ever they met again he could rough Max up
without any consequences for his job! Mooey wisely persuades his
brother to back down, and they are escorted from the building.
Togger moves in for a passionate smooch with Tanya, when Emma bursts
into the limo with something urgent to discuss. Togger leaves them
to it but can't believe his ears when Emma tells a stunned Tanya she
is still pregnant! As Abel arrives, Togger mournfully admits his summer
is over before it's even begun. |
