Andy can't talk Togger out of barricading the school toilets. Using pairs of his grandad's trousers, Togger sets up pairs of legs to make it look like each cubicle was in use. They are almost caught out when Malachay needs to spend a penny, but after a lengthy wait he gives up. Before long, a queue forms at the gent's with Togger and Andy hiding in an empty cubicle. Wally uncovers Togger's scam but Patrick is spotted making a run for it. Emma comes to school with a huge rucksack; today is the day she planned to run away to London (erm...excuse me but isn't Grange Hill supposed to be in London?!) and seek sanctuary in a refuge. Tanya begs Emma to think again; her plans are full of holes after all. Baz carpets Tanya for not keeping their date and is fed up with Emma coming between them.
Kathy is on edge as the cafe prepares to welcome the Indonesian exchange students. Amy messes up the welcome sign; Dawn struts around delighted by the accumulating disasters. Taylor looked set to miss yet another essay deadline; Kathy bails him out by letting him copy hers. When it looked like everything was finally coming together, Wally announces the gas has gone in the kitchens, meaning no hot food for the guests! Phase two of Togger's plan involved putting stink bombs on the toilet seats. He ropes Jeremy into helping him and they watch as Malachay became a perfect victim. The smell overpowers the pair; they try to flee but Malachay stops them dead. Jeremy protests he was just the accomplice.
The green light is given for a referendum on the girls' PE kit. In desperation, Tanya phones Emma's dad who turns up at school. Emma is annoyed with Tanya, while Baz continues to tear strips off Tanya who tells him he was dumped! Baz refuses to let things go and accuses Tanya of being immature and a tease. Mr Bolton confronts Emma's mum and a row erupts at the reception. He's shocked Emma could even think about running off to London but offers little in the way of a solution. The exchange students arrive and Kathy has to serve food from a takeaway. Taylor hides under his decks so Mrs Bassinger can't spot him.
Tigger comes to school wearing the top he got for his birthday. It looks like Alex and Ed have forgotten but they are only bluffing him! When Alex pays £2 for a fruit smoothie, he realises he could probably make his own; Ed and Tigger see a lucrative opportunity! The trio go to the kitchens and sure enough, Alex cooks up a smoothie as good as what he paid for. Alex serves his drinks at the reception. Mooey bursts into the kitchen and starts up the blender, covering Tigger's new top in smoothie. Tigger lunges at Mooey and they brawl on the kitchen worktop. The fight spills out into the canteen; Mrs Bassinger sends Tigger to her office.
A guy in a chicken suit winds up punters at the reception. Spencer is the hired entertainment but fails to show; when Kathy calls Spencer she realises he is in the chicken suit! Mrs Bassinger excludes Togger, saying he has no respect for the school or his teachers. Emma and Tanya say a very emotional goodbye, before Emma is driven off into the sunset. Tanya accuses Mrs Bolton of not caring about Emma.
