It's Alex's birthday and
he brings a huge cake in to share with his mates. He sees Tigger hiding
a card in his blazer which he thinks is his birthday card. Really,
Tigger and Ed are selling fake Togger signatures! Grange Hill is wired
for sound as The Hill prepares for launch. Maddie lords it up ahead
of her presenting debut, but turns up late for a production meeting.
The meeting soon descends into a slanging match led by Kathy and Maddie
- furious her full name has been splashed all over the papers. Mr
Malachay rushes to the radio room and everyone is horrified as he
is to discover the infighting has been broadcast round the school!
Tanya gets herself a "chic" French bag on the net but
Andy exposes it as a fake. She also receives e-mails from her French
e-mail friends - one of them, Jean, appears to be interested in
her. His family appear to be loaded which is a bonus. Andy reconciles
Togger and Abel. Mooey collars Alex in front of Alison; she becomes
more concerned but Alex plays the situation down. When Mooey tries
again in the playground, Alison prevents an ambush by alerting Tigger
and Ed.
Kat sacks Maddie; Karen finds herself in the hot seat but doesn't
have a clue, so she asks Taylor and he reluctantly agrees. Malachay
suggests he and Maddie share a slot. Mr Fox brings in Derek the rabbit
to teach Year 7 about Fibonacci's Golden Ratio. Spencer organises
a vote for the DVD project and makes Kathy his assistant producer,
prompting jealousy from Martin. Karen and Taylor share a kiss; she
doesn't know how to interpret it but it's a case of the green-eyed
monster for Maddie.
Togger receives a reply from the French school he e-mailed; it
turned out he'd pasted a review of Harry Potter and the recipients
imagine Grange Hill to be like Hogwarts! They ask for photographic
proof. Derek the rabbit escapes and finds his way to the CLC; the
lads use the green screen to show a giant Derek on top of the school
roof! Alex is left to enjoy the cake on his own, tears streaming
down his face. When he finally reminds Ed what day it was, Ed is
wracked with guilt but Alex doesn't want to know him.
