On the last day of the school
year; Spencer has nothing to be joyous about - nothing happened between
him and Kathy and he can't see the point in starting a relationship
if he's leaving. Kat sets them up together but Spencer runs off when
Malachay appears - he faces incurring his wrath for the unofficial
DVD! The radio station wins second prize in a national school radio
competition. Abel turns up late for assembly - and is presented with
a merit award for his efforts at the academy. Abel is uneasy - he
has something important to tell Mr Malachay.
Annie receives a solicitor's letter regarding the credit card balance.
She panics when Dad phones to say they'd rang up looking for her
mum. She makes a few last desperate attempts at sales - and asks
Baz and Maddie for money. In desperation she steals one of the school
laptops - a teacher makes assumptions when an innocent Taylor walked
by. Alex faces his fears and enters the swimming pool, joined by
Alison. But it is Tigger who ends up the laughing stock - losing
his trunks when he dives in! Baz is jealous of the blossoming friendship
between Maddie and Martin - but Martin doesn't see it as anything
more. Kat urges Malachay to go easy on Spencer; but he threatens
to withdraw his reference for film school.
Abel stuns Andy and Togger by revealing he's quit the academy, valuing
his friendship with them more. The rift with Togger heals right away.
Malachay is furious when Abel tells him; he feels badly let down and
refuses to let Abel play in the school match. Malachay refuses to
change his mind despite pleas from Togger and the absence of a team
member. Togger ends up feigning injury to force Malachay to change
his mind. The ruse works - Abel scores the winning goal! Martin asks
Maddie if she wanted to go out with him; she lets him down gently.
He is actually relieved but lets slip Baz's feelings. Maddie mentions
to Baz Annie had tried to borrow money - Baz catches Annie with the
laptop and demands an explanation. Annie confesses all about the credit
card. Malachay eventually catches up with Spencer - far from tearing
strips off him, Malachay announces the film had been put forward for
a national competition. Malachay congratulates Spencer and wishes
him all the best at film school. He even apologises for "forcing his
ideas on him"!
Taylor announces he won't be coming back and Karen urges him to
change his mind. She tells him she wants to be with him - she admires
his honesty, passion and had it not been for Taylor, The Hill wouldn't
have got its award. Spencer catches Kathy just as she is leaving
- they fall into each other's arms. The police arrive at the school
gates and Mrs Bassinger pulls up Taylor just as he is leaving. Taylor
protests his innocence as he is led away by the police. Baz and
Annie try returning the laptop but str caught red-handed. Baz takes
the rap for Annie, but she confesses the theft to an unsympathetic
Mrs Bassinger...
