 Maddie and Taylor can't
face each other, while Karen sends her to Coventry. Baz appears not
to be bothered when he hears about the triangle. Alex has brought
his swimming kit and decides to bite the bullet, but Alison texts
to say she won't be in today. The atmosphere in Year 11's maths class
is tense; Maddie tries apologising to Karen, to no avail. Karen and
Maddie continue to thrash out their differences. Taylor corners Karen,
but she refuses to listen to his protests of innocence. He then warns
Maddie to fix the mess she started - and that he never could fancy
her! Martin is angry that all this talk of love lives are stopping
them from getting on with their work!
Togger tries making amends with Tanya, but ends up putting his foot in it further. They end up bickering. Abel falls asleep in Malachay's class; the pressure of the academy is getting to him. Malachay reminds Abel there is no gain without pain, and that Abel will have to make sacrifices if he wanted to make the grade. Tanya freaks out suddenly when she sees her "attacker" go by. It turns out to be Wally, dressed in an identical top. Tanya feels terribly embarrassed. Alex tries blagging his way out of swimming, but Mr McDonnell is having none of it and makes Alex get changed. Alex manages to swim from one end of the pool to the other when it's his turn. However, afterwards his shirt goes missing and someone has scrawled "Jumbo No. 1" on the back. Kathy catches Spencer filming Malachay and is convinced he had a crush on Miss Adams. Spencer admits he's making an underground film - embarrassing shots of Malachay - and the plan is to show it at the premiere as payback for Malachay influencing the vote. The pair agree to keep things to themselves. The school gets excited about an outward bound trip. Alex can't make up his mind whether to go; Emma is full of enthusiasm; Baz warns Annie not to pressure their dad into finding the £100 cost. Annie and Emma convince Tanya it's just what she needs to forget her recent troubles. Annie later confirms she'll be going, but accidentally drops her credit card. She claims her mum has set it up for her and she planned to spend like mad to make Mum pay for the past.Mr Fox pressures Alex for a decision on the trip and is then joined by Mr Malachay, who suggests Alex take extra swimming lessons. Kathy is shocked when Spencer tells Alex to get himself into trouble - so he can get some footage of Malachay telling him off! Alex films another camcorder soliloquy; he admits he fancied Alison but thinks she'll never go out with a "jumbo" like him. He resolves to go on the outward bound course, lose weight and go on a diet for her. Another attempt by Togger to smooth things over with Tanya fails; he freaks her out by touching her on the back. Tanya says if he's going on the trip, she won't be. With Abel enjoying a kickabout with some other lads, Togger really feels isolated. |
