As school resumes following
half-term, Togger revels in his hero status (he made the local papers)
but remains guilty for changing the direction signs. Tanya skulks
outside the school gates, terrified to go in as she knows she'll be
the subject of gossip. Karen urges her to come in - saying if she
doesn't, Simon will win. Tanya's fears are proved correct as she goes
to see Mrs Bassinger and Miss Adams. Annie and Emma are still in shock
over what happened.
Karen and Taylor kiss, just as Maddie comes into class. She warns
Karen he was stringing her along; Taylor accuses Maddie of jealousy.
Spencer and Dawn clash over her script; Dawn is adamant Jeremy is
too young for the male lead. Mrs Bassinger calls Tanya in to see
her and announces she has banned unsupervised web access from the
school computers. Furious that everyone would blame her for the
further restrictions, Tanya takes aim at Mrs B for banning her from
the French exchange. Annie wonders why she can't use her credit
card; Maddie announces the new web policy on The Hill, making it
clear she blames Tanya for the situation. Mrs Bassinger hauls Maddie
up before her, while an embarrassed Tanya runs off. Annie urges
Tanya to stand up for herself - as she would have done before the
incident.
Togger is furious that Abel can't play in the football match due to
Academy rules. A nasty row erupts and in the heat of things Togger
labels Tanya as stupid. He's shocked to find Tanya behind him, feeling
utterly betrayed. Words from Martin - preoccupied with a Maths problem
- persuade Maddie she has to take the lead. Kathy is really falling
for Spencer and when he piles the praise on, becomes increasingly
convinced he felt the same way. She later saw him picking a flower
from the garden which she assumes is for her. When Spencer announces
he's got something for her, Kathy is presented not with the flower,
but a dictionary for checking the script!
Karen carpets Maddie for humiliating Tanya on air. She accuses
Maddie of jealousy because she isn't the centre of attention any
more. Maddie devises a setup for Karen; she arranges to meet Taylor
in the drama room for some "radio tips" while Martin would get Karen
to meet her there. Tanya returns to the radio station and speaks
frankly of her ordeal on air. Shooting begins on the school DVD;
Spencer puts the flower in Miss Adams' room so she'd think it was
from Malachay. The ruse works and Spencer films the pair flirting.
Karen arrives in the drama room - just as Maddie and Taylor kiss;
she walks out in horror.
