Grange Hill takes to pedal
power as the pupils gather for the sponsored bike ride. Togger changes
the direction signs to ensure personal victory; once again Andy can't
talk him out of it. The Hill is back on air and the Year 9 girls are
due to be interviewed about the recycling scheme. Tanya rolls up late;
when she arrives she is too wrapped up in texting Jean and misses
the interview. Emma and Annie struggle in her absence. Tanya glams
up and Emma is shocked to hear she plans to meet Jean instead of finishing
the race. Annie is annoyed that Tanya seems so wrapped up in Jean
to care about her mates; Emma is more concerned for her.
Spencer and Kathy look for Dawn - she promised them a script two
days ago but failed to deliver. Kat covers for Dawn - who is suffering
a serious case of mental block. Later they find her struggling over
her laptop and her excuses don't wash. Dawn storms off, thinking
her effort is rubbish. Kat persuades her it might not be after all,
so she handsover the disc. Baz gets a call from his dad asking would
he collect some pills for him. Reluctantly, Baz agrees. Malachay
scolds him for being late and isn't interested in his excuses. As
the French exchange students arrive, Taylor provokes Baz by making
public news of his mum's pregnancy. The pair come to blows and are
sent to Mrs Bassinger. This time, Baz really has blown his chances
and is definitely off the school team.
Maddie spots Taylor flirting in the CLC and can't wait to wind up
Karen with the news. Karen plays it down, saying she trusted Taylor
completely - but secretly she was worried. Chloe comes off her bike
and has to pull out injured. She's worried about her sponsor money
- she only has a few sponsors - Mr Fox agrees to sign her form if
Sammy completes the course. The accident provides the perfect distraction
for Tanya to give everyone the slip. Togger and Andy spot her and,
fearing she would blow the gaffe, follow her.
Tanya waits at the meeting point for Jean. A man called Simon appears
and tells Tanya that Jean had been delayed at the port. Simon and
Tanya hit it off; when he mentions he was on his way to the port
Tanya persuades him to let her tag along. As they walk to the van,
Tanya becomes unsettled by how much Simon seems to know about her
(i.e. her stepfamily). She sends Jean another text message; when
Simon's phone rings, she susses him and tries to leave. Simon gets
nasty, gives chase and bundles her into his van. Togger and Andy
look on in horror - Andy phones the police while Togger chases the
van. A terrified Tanya screams for her life. The film team are impressed
by Dawn's script. Spencer wants to change the ending, but Kathy
accuses him of insensitivity to Dawn's feelings. Spencer and Kathy
resolve the issue amicably; and a spark ignites between them. Maddie
tries flirting with Taylor, but as they almost kiss Taylor proclaims
his loyalty to Karen. Annie and Emma are worried about Tanya. Simon's
van narrowly misses Jeremy as the bikers cross the road. Knowing
he's been cornered, Simon throws Tanya out of the van and speeds
off. Sammy comes last and just as she's about to get her form signed,
realises Chloe has "stolen" her money by getting another 52 sponsors
in Sammy's name!
The police take Tanya away for questioning. Togger blames himself
for her ordeal and wished he'd never changed the signs. |
