| Annie continued to blank Baz for calling in social services. When
they went back home to collect some things, they were disturbed by
an intruder. It turned out to be their mum (Fionnuala Ellwood, Emmerdale)
and they were far from pleased to see her. Mum wanted to make it up
to them; Baz insisted he was managing OK and would rather stay at
Maddie's. Annie blamed her for the whole situation. Mrs Bassinger
refused to comment on Mr Robson leaving.
Mel received an unconditional offer from university. Mrs Bassinger
revealed Taylor had not been excluded; if he wasn't in school that
was his choice. Anika and Karen's petition attracted little interest
and Mel refused to sign, saying it made them just as bad as Nick.
Mel and Ian spotted Taylor in town, roaming the streets. Ian pulled
him to one side and urged him to return to school; not doing so
would let Nick think he'd won. He refused to listen and when Shannon
appeared from nowhere, he stormed off. Shannon couldn't resist a
dig at Hudson.
Year 8 had to bring in something associated with old school life.
Emma brought an abacus; Togger brought in a tongue - much to the girls'
disgust! Mr Green was impressed as it was a delicacy in those days.
Togger had bigger plans for it - he borrowed some of Andy's hair gel
and used the tongue to wind up the girls. Tanya was his first victim;
Anika fell hook line and sinker. Tanya got her revenge, stealing the
lads' swipe cards and using them in the girl's toilets. Malachay was
not amused and gave them detention. Togger asked Mr Green for "help"
with their citizenship project - realising he'd end up doing it for
them! He suggested they interview former pupils and arranged to meet
to discuss the idea further.
Karen told Tanya to give Annie a break, and explained the situation.
Realising he had a chance with Anika, Josh announced he was dropping
out of the essay competition. However, when he heard Anika was working
flat out on her entry, he changed his mind but the deadline was
fast approaching. Josh read Martin's essay - about the challenges
of being a teenager - and realised he'd been rotten to Martin. Realising
Josh desperately wanted to go, Martin entered his essay in Josh's
name. Nick again tried grovelling to Mel but she was unmoved, saying
he should have thought of the consequences.
