| It was the first day of the new term. Nick went to the police station
but bottled it. Togger hadn't done his presentation and panicked when
Jeremy reminded him it was today. Mr Green and Miss Dyson had high
hopes, so the lads went back to the residential home. Togger's cockiness
disappeared when he discovered Bill had died. Mrs Wainwright began
laying down the law at home. Annie continued to rebel but Mum was
adamant there'd be changes at home, and compared Annie to her father.
Karen vowed to continue the campaign against Nick now Anika had
gone. She was surprised that Taylor appeared to be throwing in the
towel. Shannon went with Nick to the police station and he told
all. Nick emerged feeling guilty he'd grassed on his mates, but
Shannon was hoping he'd ask her out. Nick was determined to make
amends with Mel, but she didn't want to know. Neither was Taylor
impressed when Nick told him his news, and the poster continued
to appear.
Martin was completely lost without Josh. In PE, he struck up a friendship
with Max and Martin agreed to hang out with his crowd. Before long,
Max got Martin to do his homework for him and taught him to play football.
Kathy looked on, worried. Martin arranged to meet Max after lessons
but he never showed up. Karen became concerned but Kathy insisted
it wasn't her problem. Mrs Bassinger summoned Shannon to see her about
the coursework she hadn't handed in. When she failed to keep the appointment,
Mrs Bassinger came after her and warned Shannon she was jeopardising
her A-levels. Shannon broke down and stormed off.
Jeremy, Andy and Emma impressed Mr Green with their presentations.
Finally it was Togger and Abel's turn, and they waffled through
it with a load of nonsense. An angry Mr Green was ready to send
them to Mrs Bassinger, then Togger blurted out that Bill was dead,
but that everyone should enjoy school as it was too depressing in
Bill's day. His outburst was greeted by applause from classmates.
An irate Mrs Wainwright arrived to pick up Baz and Annie; Annie
started off again. When she refused to get in the car, Mum announced
they'd be moving in to her place. A tearful Shannon wallowed in
the park.
