| Grange Hill reopened for a new school year. Togger was busy showisis
"weapons of mass destruction" - chicken claws! He tried
selling ones Jeremy. And there was still no love lost between Karen
and Tanya - the latter found herself pulled up yet again because of
her appearance. Work was complete on the school - now a specialist
technology college.
For once, Annie arrived on time but Maddie wanted to know where
Baz was. Then Tanya asked about her dad and Annie wondered if people
were talking about her. Calvin showed off his new photo phone; Mel
wasn't happy at being snapped while Anika admitted she'd been unable
to persuade Amy to return to school. Josh tried to make Anika jealous
as he passed her. Ian returned with a more positive attitude towards
schoolwork which impressed Malachay. Ian was concerned that Shannon
wasn't answering the phone. Ian tried to warn Mel off Nick but failed
miserably. Nick goaded Ian who warned him to steer clear else his
"big secret" would be revealed.
Spencer looked forward to two years' slacking in the sixth form; Anika
was not impressed. The lads skived in search of a prize-winning photo
- eventually they got one of Anika falling over but were interrupted
by Mrs Knuckle who confiscated the phone. Maddie and Karen jibed Kathy
and Martin about their relationship - or lack of pashing. Maddie and
Baz were back on now that Baz had revealed all.
In assembly, Mrs Bassinger trumpets the new technological facilities,
including swipe cards and electronic registers. She announced that
at the end of the year, Grange Hill would be celebrating 125 years
of there being a school on its site and wanted ideas for the festivities.
A clock counted down to the end of term. Mrs Bassinger urged everyone
to make a fresh start for the new year.
Returning pupil Taylor - back at Grange Hill after being excluded
from his last school - is late for assembly and immediately got on
the wrong side of Malachay. Karen and Maddie were surprised at Taylor's
return; Mrs Bassinger was not impressed by his attitude and ordered
him to see her after school. Ian invited Taylor back on the football
team if he lost the attitude. Baz arrived late after a hospital appointment
only to face questioning from Josh and Mrs Bassinger.
Martin asked Kathy what's wrong. She insists there was nothing
but is clearly preoccupied; She rebuffs Martin when he tried to
kiss her. Annie became more paranoid and Emma put her foot in it
trying to help. Tanya accused Emma of spreading more gossip. Togger
and co. messed with their chicken claws in class; they thought they
could use them to cadge a free packet of crisps from the tuck shop
but failed miserably. Ian became increasingly worried about Shannon
and his suspicions mounted when her grandparents' shop was closed.
Taylor tried cracking on to Mel. Nick was horrified to see Taylor
back - do they have a history?
